Our Academic Director's Message

The kind of education, we need in our country, is an education “proper to the Indian soul and need and temperament and culture that we are in quest of, not indeed something faithful merely to the past, but to the developing soul of India, to her future need, to the greatness of her coming-self creation, to her eternal spirit.”

As the current generation of students continue to arrive at schools or colleges, the rapid changes in technology, the workplace, and the amount of general knowledge available to them creates a need for additional set of competencies.

The driving question is: Are we equipping students with the right skills to be successful in the 21st Century?

There is a profound gap between knowledge students learn in schools and the skills they need in typical 21st century communities and workplaces. To successfully face rigorous needs of higher education courses, career challenges and a globally competitive workforce, our school align classroom atmosphere with real world environment by infusing 21st century skills into their learning process.

Skills such as problem solving, innovation and creativity have become critical in today’s global economy. One needs to understand that the knowledge-based economy cannot flourish without a proper education system. In the 21st century, in order to succeed in school, work and life, the core subjects like English, Mathematics, Science, Arts, Civics, History, Economics , Geography etc. are expanded to include 21st century subjects such as global awareness, civic literacy, health and wellness, business and entrepreneurial literacy

Traditional teaching is a one-way street, where teachers teach and students learn by rote, with most of the information coming from the teacher. Mount Litera Zee learning theory sees learning as an individual quest for meaning and relevance.

Learning needs to move beyond the recall of facts, principles or correct procedures, and into the area of creativity, problem-solving, analysis, or evaluation. It is well known fact that our students learn more by active involvement than they are passive recipients of instruction. Our teachers act as facilitators and mentors using flexible teaching strategies to provide an environment wherein learners are comfortable in their learning environment.

Our education system focus on innovative teaching and learning practices such as inquiry based and project based learning methods etc., so that students connect curricular studies with real life situations, develop higher level thinking skills, work in teams and develop a scientific temperament and attitude. ICT play a major role in developing such a classroom environment and bringing in a paradigm shift in education practices across our wifi enabled campus with complete digital learning class room experiences

As a proud Principal of the pride institution “Mount Litera Zee Senior Secondary School (Residential), Sivagangai, I envisage all my inherent abilities in the portrait need of the learners with differential need and heed. Hailing from a dedicated teaching family, I was blessed by my father, a retired District Educational Officer and mother, a retired post graduate teacher who always taught me “Education is to give and not to take”.

With all my 26 years of service as a teacher and Principal in various leading ICSE, Matric and CBSE schools, I was blessed by all my school children to receive Tamil Nadu Government’s most prestigious award “Dr. Radhakrishnan –Best Teacher Award in the year 2015.

Every mind has an instinct of inspiration; every action has an intuition of perfection but the result of living lies in one’s handling of emotions which are the need of the hour for every student which made me pursue an addition post-graduation degree in psychology to serve the student’s emotional imbalance.

So many accolades of honor like “Best Principal Award, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Award, Best Philanthropist Award, Best Humanitarian Award, TISCON – Best Spiritual Award, Best Teacher Award etc… were the blessings which I reciprocate with all my indebtedness to every school and correspondent for the land of opportunity provided for me to grow into an academician.
